Recommendation and Proposed Motion

Recommendation:  Staff recommends approval of the interlocal agreement with RTC for conduit installed with RTC's Virginia Street Bus RAPID Transit project in Midtown.

Proposed Motion:  I move to approve staff recommendation.

Staff Report Formal Body

Summary: Staff recommends the approval of the Interlocal Reimbursement Agreement with RTC for $65,997 for conduit installed with the Virginia Street Bus RAPID Transit Project in MidTown.

Discussion: The Regional Transportation Commission’s Virginia Street Bus RAPID Transit Project in MidTown required relocation of numerous utilities.  Included in the utility relocations were Spectrum Charter, AT&T, Verizon, NV Energy, Truckee Meadows Water Authority and Reno Traffic Signal Conduit.  In addition to the traffic signal conduit, which was included in the funding for the project, the City of Reno requested that RTC install 2 - 3 inch vacant conduits for future use.  This conduit was installed with the other dry utilities in a joint trench on South Virginia Street, between Liberty Street and Plumb Lane.  This agreement is to reimburse RTC for Reno’s share of that expense for the vacant conduits for future use

Financial Implications:  Funding will come from the General Capital Fund

Legal Implications:  Pursuant to the terms of the agreement, City will reimburse RTC for Reno’s share of the conduit installation.
