Recommendation:  Staff recommends that the Mayor and Council make the necessary reappointment as noted in the staff report.


Proposed Motion:  I move to reappoint _____ to the Downtown Maintenance District Advisory Committee.

Staff Report Formal Body

Summary:  Jeffery Siri’s (Club Cal Neva) term on the Downtown Maintenance District Advisory Committee is due to expire.  He has served two full two-year terms on the Committee, and is eligible for and interested in reappointment.  The term of reappointment is for the period November 15, 2017 through October 31, 2019.  There are no other applications on file.


Background:  Per RMC 12.30.060, the City Council appoints members to the Downtown Maintenance District Advisory Committee.  The Advisory Committee recommends to the Council any appropriate changes in the level or kind of maintenance.  Per Resolution No. 7468, the Committee shall consist of up to nine voting members, and includes residential and commercial stakeholders.  Members are appointed to a two-year term; there is no term limit.


Method of Appointment:  Appointed by City Council.


Financial Implications:  None at this time.


Legal Implications:  Nevada Open Meeting Law requirements apply to any committee appointed by the Council.
