RESOLUTION TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 5673 BY ADOPTING A CHANGE TO THE LAND USE PLAN OF THE RENO MASTER PLAN AS APPROVED IN CASE NO. LDC17-00060.

 

              WHEREAS, the Reno City Council, on November 9, 1999, approved Resolution No. 5673, adopting the Reno Master Plan; and

 

              WHEREAS, the Reno City Planning Commission, on July 5, 2017, approved Resolution No. 04-17, adopting amendments to the Land Use Plan of the Reno Master Plan by changing the land use designation for Case No. LDC17-00060 (McCarran/Sutro Master Plan and Zoning Map Amendment) from Mixed Residential to Urban Residential/Commercial (Exhibit A), and recommended that this Council adopt the same;

 

              WHEREAS this Council held a duly noticed public hearing on the date of this Resolution, and based on the staff reports, minutes of the Planning Commission, and information presented at the public hearing, this Council finds that the proposed amendment is consistent with the Master Plan and may practicably be applied to the development of the city and therefore ADOPTS the proposed amendment to the Land Use Plan of the Reno Master Plan by changing the land use designation for Case No. LDC17-00060 (McCarran/Sutro Master Plan and Zoning Map Amendment) from Mixed Residential to Urban Residential/Commercial (Exhibit A), subject to a determination by the Regional Planning Commission that the proposed amendment conforms to the Truckee Meadows Regional Plan;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Reno City Council:

 

  1. That Resolution No. 5673 be amended by changing the land use designation for Case No. LDC17-00060 (McCarran/Sutro Master Plan and Zoning Map Amendment) from Mixed Residential to Urban Residential/Commercial as shown on Exhibit A.

 

  1. That this Resolution be forwarded to the Regional Planning Commission for a determination that it conforms to the Truckee Meadows Regional Plan.

 

  1. That the master plan amendment adopted hereby shall become effective only if and when the Regional Planning Commission determines that it conforms to the Truckee Meadows Regional Plan.
