Recommendation and Proposed Motion

Recommendation:  Staff recommends Council approval of the Cooperative Agreement between the City of Reno, on behalf of the Reno Fire Department and the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority and authorize the Mayor to sign.

 

Proposed Motion:  I move to approve staff recommendation.

Staff Report Formal Body

Summary:  The Cooperative Agreement between the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority and the City of Reno, on behalf of the Reno Fire Department, reflects the manner in which cooperative fire protection is carried out during fire emergencies involving the Reno Fire Department and the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority Fire Department.

 

Discussion:  The Cooperative Agreement outlines common expectations, operating protocols, reimbursement rates and shared responsibilities, mutual aid parameters during fires and other emergencies involving the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority Fire Department and the City of Reno Fire Department.

 

Financial Implications:  This plan sets the rates in regard to billings and allows for assistance for 12 hours without reimbursement to incidents inside the jurisdictions of the City of Reno and the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority.

 

Legal Implications:  The Cooperative Agreement is entered into in accordance with applicable law and are binding agreements.
